Laura-Lee is a mother of 2, known to her friends as 24/7. She has been employed for the last 15 years Municipal Government, and over the last decade as an Intake Worker for Social Services. She is a Part-time facilitator for Kairos Southern Ontario National office working with subsidiary branches of the Mennonite Central Committee, Christian Reform, and local branches. She has studied the Kairos documents of Palestine (2016) through the National Presbyterian Church of Canada (PCC) and returned to Israel with Sabeel (2017), later pursue her Theology for Palestinian Liberation under founder Dr. Rev Naim Ateek (2018) at St. Michaels U of T. Laura-Lee is an Ordained Elder (2012) and Lay Ministry (2019) covering pulpit supply currently in Mississauga. She is the PCC Convenor of the National Ecumenical and Interfaith Committee (2023), and the PCC Board Member on the Canadian Council of Churches. Her various career positions have helped her support individuals, advocating for equality with a unique background mainly in the human science, along with knowledge from the healthcare industry she supports families dealing with addictions, seniors with disabilities, palliative care- end of life support, and combines her previous past work in solid waste understanding various social determinants. Her extensive work history gives insight in the many mental, and physical health issues that Indigenous and oppressed populations face, as her focus is on providing supports and guidance with those that experience homelessness, mental health and addiction. Laura-Lee is Metis descent from her mother’s side traced to Treaty 61 Penetanguishene Robinson-Huron traced from her grandmother Dandeneau. Proud of her family history being recognized Nationally both in the Metis Museum and currently as some of the most influential Indigenous musicians. Rooted in her love for God and heart for reconciliation, she devotes a lot of her focuses on the TRC Calls to Action 58-61. Certifications in Vicarious Trauma – Strategies for Resilience and De-Escalating Potentially Violent Situations – C.T.R.I. (Crisis Trauma and Resource Institute) and trained in several conflict resolution techniques. Her certification and training vary from supporting families of homicide, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Hoarding, Harm Reduction, Blue Umbrella Dementia Alzheimer training, and Indigenous Cultural Resilience and Trauma from York University.
